Will try to help out later with documentation on use of apsfilter and CUPS. >How-To-Repeat: >Fix: At the start of printing, some text on making sure that the LPD daemon is running first eg. "Make sure that the LPD daemon is loaded and running by adding lpd_enable="YES" in rc.conf on startup. In troubleshooting, if there is problem with printing on remote printer, to make sure that remote spool name (lp) is correct when it says "Waiting for queue to be enabled" for the status file. A lot of small cheap LPR devices, use obscure names (as do some sysadmins). >Release-Note: >Audit-Trail: From: Giorgos Keramidas To: Khairil Yusof Cc: bug-followup@freebsd.org Subject: Re: docs/43864: Minor documentation to add Date: Thu, 21 Nov 2002 04:38:16 +0200 On 2002-10-09 07:43, Khairil Yusof wrote: > At the start of printing, some text on making sure that the LPD > daemon is running first eg. > > "Make sure that the LPD daemon is loaded and running by adding > lpd_enable="YES" in rc.conf on startup. Part of the "Printing" chapter reads: : Turn on <application>LPD</application> : : &man.lpd.8; is run from /etc/rc, : controlled by the lpd_enable variable. This : variable defaults to NO. If you have not done : so already, add the line: : : lpd_enable="YES" This has been in the book for a while. Do you still think that it needs to be changed?
