Name: Screen Version: 1.0.6 Released: April 3, 1995 Description: Screen Control Panel is used on Macintosh systems with built-in displays (not PowerBooks) to control screen brightness, contrast and whether the screen should be automatically turned off when the Macintosh system is idle from 15-60 minutes. The enclosed file is a self-extracting archive. To use, download, double-click the downloaded file (this decompresses it). Screen Control Panel 1.0.6 fixes the following problems: 1. On the Macintosh LCÊ580 there is a potential crashing problem using v1.0.5. This crash is very random and only occurs at boot. It normally takes hundreds of reboots for this problem to occur. The machine will crash with a bus error. The machine (hard drive etc..,) is not corrupted and just restarting will usually fix the problem. 2. On all other machines that use the Screen Control Panel the above mentioned problem may very rarely cause problems when the Screen Control Panel attempts to turn the monitor off. Anyone experiencing problems getting the monitor to turn off using the Screen Control Panel should use version 1.0.6.
