# 4026- 5000 Series Error Messages Error Message 5000 The 5000 series of error messages occur as a direct result of a memory conflict in your system. Usually such error messages are object or file specific and can be easily isolated. When such an error occurs, and CorelDRAW will allow, save your work and exit Windows. Power down the computer and reboot, before restarting. If the error message returns, try the suggestions outlined below. Removing TMP files Temporary files are created while working in CorelDRAW. Over time, these files collect, and take up unnecessary hard drive space. To remove these files, perform the following steps: 1. At the DOS prompt, type SET and press ENTER. 2. Note the location of the TEMP directory, i.e. TEMP=C:\WINDOWS\TEMP. 3. Change to the directory, and type DEL *.TMP and press ENTER. 4. Ensure that at least 5 MB of free hard drive space is available on this drive. Error Message 5001 This error occurs when two pieces of data are in conflict. For large files perform the following steps to locate the corrupted object: If your printer has output part of your drawing you may select the last object printed and use SHIFT, TAB to select the next object. This is likely the offending object, and can be deleted. To isolate the object, marquee select half of the objects , and click Edit, Copy. If no error occurs, marquee select another area, and click Edit, Copy. Once the error occurs you will need to select fewer objects from that area and continue with the copying process until you have located the offending object. Once identified, delete and recreate it. If you locate the corrupted object but cannot delete it, click Edit, Select All, and SHIFT-click the corrupt object. This will deselect it. Save selected only, into a new CorelDRAW file with a new file name. If the error occurs when loading a file, click Display, Edit Wire frame. Attempt to open the file again.
