# 6013- Issues with Corel BAR CODE Wizard The Corel BAR CODE Wizard is an OLE 2.0 compliant applet used for creating bar codes. The Corel BAR CODE Wizard supports seven industry-standard bar code formats. These bar codes are readable by most standard bar code readers. Installation When attempting to access the Corel BAR CODE Wizard the Insert Bar Code option under the Edit menu may be grayed out. The Corel BAR CODE Wizard is not installed during a typical installation. To install the Corel BAR CODE Wizard, perform a Custom installation. Enable the Import/Export check boxes and the Corel BAR CODE Wizard check box, found under Utilities, only. Installing Corel BAR CODE Wizard Fonts The Corel BAR CODE Wizard Wizard comes with a number of True Type and Type 1 fonts. Under certain conditions, these fonts can become damaged or corrupted. There are two ways to reinstall damaged bar code fonts: 1. Click Start, Settings, Contorl Panel. Double-click the Fonts icon. Click File, Install new font and choose the font to install. 2. In Corel FONT MASTER 6, drag the required font to the permanently installed folder. Note: Bar code fonts are located in the BARCODE\FONTS folder on CD-ROM #1. Jumbled Fonts or Not Recognizing Bar Code Fonts When using the Corel BAR CODE Wizard the bar code numbers may overlap each other or the error "Bar code fonts not installed" may be generated. This occurs because there are too many fonts permanently installed on the system. To reduce the number of permanently installed fonts, Click Start, Settings, Control Panel. Double- click the Fonts icon. Click the desired fonts and press DELETE. Rotating and Resizing Corel BAR CODE Wizards To rotate or resize a bar code, follow one of the two steps below: 1. Click the bar code using the Pick tool, and click Edit, Copy. Click Edit, Paste Special. Paste it as a Picture (MetaFile). 2. Click File, Export, and export the bar code as a Windows MetaFile (WMF). Import the WMF image back into the application. Note: In most cases, a bar code that is rotated or resized becomes distorted, making it unreadable by bar code readers.
