# 6021- Accessing Clipart and Symbols There are over 25,000 Clipart images and symbols in CorelDRAW™ 6. Importing is the primary method of accessing the Clipart in all CorelDRAW products for use within a document. This tutorial will outline the steps required to search for and import a specific Clipart image from the Clipart manual. Importing Clipart Search for the Clipart image FBALL122 , found on page B472 of the Clipart manual 1. Insert the CorelDRAW 6 CD-ROM #4. 2. Click File, Import. 3. In the List Files of Type list box, click Corel Presentation Exchange 6.0, (CMX). 4. Click the appropriate CD-ROM drive letter, and double-click the Clipart folder. 5. A list of Clipart categories will appear in the import window. To determine which category is associated with FBALL122, turn to page B472 in the Clipart Manual. The top right hand corner of each page displays a category name or path. In this case, the category is ...\SPORTS. 6. Double-click the SPORTS folder, and double-click FBALL122. The image will automatically be imported into the document. Accessing Symbols Symbols are located in Section C of the Clipart Manual , and are referenced in the same manner as the Clipart, but are not opened or imported into a document. Note: The CorelDRAW symbols can be accessed directly from CorelDRAW provided that all of the symbols have been previously installed. If all of the symbols are not available to you, install the symbols in the same manner you would install True Type fonts. The symbols are located on CD- ROM #1 in the FONTS\SYMBOLS folder. Refer to Fax on Demand #6007 for information about installing additional True Type fonts. To access a Symbol: 1. Click Tools, Symbols, or click on the Star icon on the ribbon bar. 2. The Symbols RollUp will appear. Locate the appropriate category for the desired symbol in the list box. 3. From the Clipart manual, locate the Symbol number and type it in the # list box. The chosen symbol will be highlighted. 4. Drag the symbol onto the document. Templates The Templates are referenced in section D of the Clipart manual, and are located on CD-ROM #1 in the DRAW\TEMPLATE folder. To access a Template, click File, Open and click CorelDRAW Template (*.CDT) in the List Files of Type list box. Photos and Bitmaps Photos and Bitmaps are referenced in sections E and F of the Clipart manual, and are located on CD- ROM #3 in the \IMAGES folder. To access them, click File, Import and click JPEG Bitmaps (JPG) for photos, and TIFF Bitmaps (TIF) for all other bitmaps, in the List files of Type list box. Refer to the Clipart manual to properly associate the desired image to its respective category. Floating Objects Floating Objects are referenced in section H of the Clipart manual, and are located on CD-ROM #3 in the \PHOTOPAINT \ OBJECTS folder. To access them, they must be opened in Corel PHOTO PAINT™ and saved as TIF files. The TIF files can be imported into DRAW. Refer to Fax on Demand document #6015 for information about saving bitmaps with a transparent background. Actors and Props, and Backgrounds Actors, Props and Backgrounds are referenced in sections I and J of the Clipart manual, and are located on CD-ROM #2 in the \PRESENTS folder. The Actors and Props can be imported into Corel PRESENTS™ 6 only. The Backgrounds must be in loaded in Corel PRESENTS 6 by clicking View, Background Library. Refer to the online Help in Corel PRESENTS 6 for detailed instructions about accessing the backgrounds. Objects from Corel PRESENTS can be copied to the Clipboard and pasted into CorelDRAW 6. 3D Models 3D Models are referenced in section N of the Clipart manual, and are located on CD-ROM #3 in the \3DMODELS folder. The 3D Models can only be accessed in CorelDREAM 3D. In CorelDREAM 3D a scene must be rendered in order to save the file as a bitmap image. Refer to the online Help in CorelDREAM 3D, or the CorelDREAM 3D tutorial on page E11 of the manual, for instructions about rendering a scene. Once the file is saved as a bitmap image it can be imported into CorelDRAW.
