# 6027- Corel PRESENTS™ FAQs The following document contains frequently asked questions and answers about Corel PRESENTS™ 6. Q How do I access Actors and Props in Corel PRESENTS 6? A From within Corel PRESENTS, click File, Import, and click the .MLB filter from the Files Of Type list box. Double-click the .MLB file in the to activate the Import Actors/Props dialog box. Click the individual actor or prop, and click OK. The .MLB filter is not available in CorelDRAW™, and therefore these characters may not be imported directly into CorelDRAW. Use copy and paste, or Corel CAPTURE™ to bring the images from Corel PRESENTS to CorelDRAW. Q Why am I receiving the error "Unexpected File Format" when trying to save a presentation a second time? A Depending on the complexity of the Presentation, there is a limitation to the amount of objects that can be imported into PRESENTS, if this is exceeded this error will be generated. Hint: Text that is made in CorelDEPTH often contains thousands of objects. Q How do I apply closing transitions to slides in Corel PRESENTS? A Opening transitions can be applied to both slides and objects. Closing transitions can be applied to objects only. Q Why can't I customize a Corel PRESENTS chart? A Open the Chart in Corel PRESENTS. Click Edit, Cut. Open CorelDRAW and click Edit, Paste As Special MetaFile. Ungroup the chart and edit it as a vector object. Q The objects in the Timeline appear as Object 1, Object 2, etc; How do you change their names so that it is easier to identify them? A To change the names of the objects click on the name, and hold for at least 2 seconds. The name will become highlighted, and you can type a new name. Q Imported .WAV files play for the duration of a single slide only. Is there anyway to have them run through the entire presentation in the background? A To have sounds play in the background this must be configured prior to importing a file. When any file type is being imported there is an option to import this onto a new slide, current slide or background. Click background, and the sound file will play for the duration of the presentation. Note: If the sound has already been inserted into the presentation it must be removed, and reimported with the import to background option chosen. Q In the online Help under "To import a video file", it is indicated that Corel PRESENTS supports .AVI, .MPEG, .MOV, .FLI and .FLC video files. Why can't I find a filter for either .MOV or .FLC files? A This is a misprint. Corel PRESENTS 6 only supports .AVI, .MPEG and .FLI video files. Q The CorelDRAW 6 Clipart manual states on pages K1 to K6, the Chart Clipart is located on CD- ROM #2 in the \PRESENTS\CHARTS folder. Why can't I locate them? A This is a misprint. The Clipart images are located on CD-ROM #1 in the \PRESENTS \CHARTS folder. Q Why doesn't the sound play after inserting an animation file into a presentation? A Corel PRESENTS will play sound files recorded at 11, 22, and 44 megahertz. Also, the sound files should be imported, not inserted into the presentation. Q Why is the error "Invalid file format" generated when attempting to save the presentation again? A This may occur as a result of a corrupted object (e.g. an imported file, an image inserted with OLE, text, or Corel PRESENTS) somewhere in the file. To resolve this, launch a second copy of Corel PRESENTS. Right-click on the Taskbar, and click Tile Vertically. You may need to minimize all other applications for this to work correctly. With both windows available, setup the second copy of Corel PRESENTS with the same number of slides. In the first copy of Corel PRESENTS click Edit, Select All, and drag the objects to the second copy of Corel PRESENTS while pressing CTRL. This will create a copy of the image, so that the original stays intact. Once the image is in the second copy of Corel PRESENTS, on the appropriate slide, click Arrange, Fit to Slide to adjust the image. Save the file each time an object is dragged over, this will single out the corrupted object. If the file can no longer be saved, repeat the drag of each object in the slide. This will identify the object through a process of elimination. Once it has been found, recreate or reimport the object. Q I would like to use the Corel PRESENTS .CPR Clipart in CorelDRAW, but cut and paste do not give me good results. What is the best method? A The object can be transferred to CorelDRAW 6 by using Corel CAPTURE™.
