# 3454- Installing True Type Fonts The True Type font engine is an integral component of Windows® 95. Therefore, a third-party font manager is not required to use True Type fonts in any application running in a Windows 95 environment. True Type fonts are installed to and accessed from the WINDOWS/FONTS folder in Windows 95. CorelDRAW™ 8 applications will access True Type fonts at this location. Note: Installing an excessive number of Fonts (+500) may tax system resources, hinder performance and affect the operation of Windows 95. There are two options for installing True Type Fonts in Window 95 or Windows NT. Fonts may be installed using a Custom setup of CorelDRAW 8 or using the Fonts icon within the Control Panel. Installing True Type Fonts to Windows 95 or Windows® NT: 1. Click Start, Settings, Control Panel and double-click the Fonts icon. 2. Click File, Install New Font. 3. Insert the CorelDRAW 8 CD-ROM #1. 4. Click the CD-ROM drive from the Drives list box and double-click the folder that contains the desired fonts, i.e. X:\FONTS\TTF\A. 5. Click the fonts to be installed and click OK. Installing True Type Fonts from a Custom Setup of CorelDRAW 8: 1. Insert the CorelDRAW 8 CD-ROM #1. 2. Click Setup from the Autorun feature. If Autorun is not activated, click Start, Run and type X:\SETUP.EXE on the Open command line and press enter. (Where X:\ is the CD-ROM drive letter.) 3. When prompted to choose which type of install to perform, select Custom Setup. 4. Disable all check boxes in the Components, Writing Tools and Color Profile windows. 5. Choose to install by font groups or by individual fonts. Place a check beside the font group or individual font name to be installed. Font group contents are described in the front of the Clipart Manual. By clicking on the "+" symbol beside the Font group, a list of the fonts included in the group will appear. By clicking on the font name a preview will appear in the window below. 6. Follow the prompts to finish the installation.
