# 3103- Error Obtaining License (-12)

If the message "Error Obtaining License (-12)" is generated when launching CorelDRAW  3 for
UNIX, you may be encountering an incompatibility problem with different versions of the License
Manager mechanism.  The current versions of the LMGRD and WIXD processes running on the
system may differ from the Highland Software license mechanism version 2.4 provided with
CorelDRAW 3 for UNIX.

To resolve this, kill any LMGRD and WIXD processes that are currently running.  Make a
backup copy of the current LMGRD and WIXD files found in the /ETC directory by renaming
them.  Then copy the new LMGRD and WIXD files from the
CORELHOME/<PLATFORM>/LICENSE directory to the /ETC directory.  You must restart the
LMGRD process, this will automatically start the WIXD process for you. 

If you encounter any other issues and wish to return to the previous state, rename the back up
license files.  If the problem persists, contact CorelDRAW 3 for UNIX Support.
