# 2801- Accessing Corel GALLERY™ Clipart This document describes how to open and export Corel GALLERY™ clipart. Before you can access the clipart, ensure that Corel GALLERY has been correctly installed. Consult the Quickstart manual for details on installation. Opening Clipart Once Corel GALLERY has been installed, double-click on the Corel GALLERY icon to launch the application. To open the clipart, perform the following steps: 1. Click File, Open. 2. Insert the Corel GALLERY CD-ROM, and change to the CD-ROM drive letter. 3. Double-click the CLIPART folder. In order to determine the folder containing the desired clipart use the index provided in the front of the Corel GALLERY manual. In the top left corner of the page containing the clipart, there is an icon representing the major folder for the clipart shown. For example, if you wished to open the clipart BOA shown on page 200, the corner symbol is listed in the index as Man. As well, the word Man appears to the right of the icon. 4. Double click the desired clipart folder. In some cases, there are further categories and folders for the clipart image. The icons representing the subtopic and manufacturer are found in the top right hand corner of the page. The equivalent folder names are to the left of these icons or in the case of the manufacturer a list of the icons used is located in the beginning of the manual in front of the clipart index. In our previous example, BOA, the subtopic is HUMOR and the manufacturer is TOTEM GRAPHICS. 5. Click the desired clipart file, and enable the Preview option. 6. Click Open, Done. There are three ways to place the drawing into a document, copy and paste, export and import, and drag and drop. Copy And Pasting 1. Click the desired clipart image, and click Edit, Copy. 2. Open the document you wish to insert the image into, and click Edit, Paste. Note: When you close Corel GALLERY, you will be prompted answer Yes or No to the question of leaving the data on the clipboard. Clicking yes allows you to paste the same piece of clipart multiple times in any application, until the Clipboard contents are changed. Exporting And Importing 1. Click the clipart image, and click File, Export. 2. Click an export filter from the List Files of Type list box. Make certain to use a filter supported by the other application. Refer to the online Help or manual for the target application for information about supported file types. 3. Type a file name, and choose an export destination. 4. Click OK, and exit Corel GALLERY. Once the clipart has been exported, you can import the clipart into the target application. Refer to the online Help or manual for the target application for information about importing. Drag And Dropping This method is only available if the second application is an OLE 2.0 client, Refer to the online Help or manual for the target application for information about OLE 2.0 compliancy. 1. Open the target application, and switch back to Corel GALLERY using ALT, TAB or CTRL, ESC. 2. Tile the applications so that both windows are visible on the screen. 3. Click and drag the clipart image from Corel GALLERY to the target application.
