# 3553- Uninstalling Corel MEGA GALLERY™ from Windows® 95 Warning: Before manually uninstalling any 16-bit application from Windows® 95, it is strongly recommended to back up the SYSTEM.DAT and USER.DAT files. In addition you should make backups of the WIN.INI and SYSTEM.INI files to a floppy disk. These files can be found in the WINDOWS 95 folder. If any of the following applications are also installed on the same computer as Corel MEGA GALLERY, do not proceed with these instructions. Instead, contact Corel Technical Support. • Corel® CD Office Companion • Corel® Graphics Pack • Corel GALLERY™ 2 • Corel® WEB.GALLERY To uninstall Corel MEGA GALLERY™ from the Windows 95 operating system, carefully perform the following steps: 1. Backup any personal or customized files that have been stored in the GALLERY2 folder. 2. Click Start, Programs, Windows Explorer. 3. Locate and delete the GALLERY2 folder. 4. Locate the WINDOWS 95\START MENU\PROGRAMS folder and delete the GALLERY2 folder. 5. Exit Windows Explorer. 6. Click Start, Run, and type WIN.INI. Press ENTER. 7. Delete the following entries from the WIN.INI: [EXTENSIONS] GAL=C:\GALLERY2\PROGRAMS\CORELGAL.EXE ^.GAL CFM=C:\GALLERY2\FMASTER\CORELFM.EXE ^.CFM TTF=C:\GALLERY2\FMASTER\CORELFM.EXE ^.TTF DIZ=c:\GALLERY2\PROGRAMS\PRELUDE.EXE ^.DIZ [CORELGALLERY2] DIR=C:\GALLERY2\CONFIG 8. Click File, Save, and exit the WIN.INI. 9. Click Start, Run. Type REGEDIT on the Open command line, and click OK. 10. Click Edit, Find. 11. Type GALLERY2, and press enter. 12. Right-click the entries found, and click Delete. 13. Continue searching by pressing F3. Delete all entries found. 14. Remove any Corel GALLERY 2 shortcut icons that are on your desktop. To do this, click the icon, and press DELETE. 15. Right-click the Recycle Bin, and click Empty Recycle Bin. 16. Restart Windows. Note: It is a good practice to run a SCANDISK and a DEFRAG after making changes of this nature. Removing Corel MEGA GALLERY Fonts Depending on the type of installation performed, different fonts will be installed. Corel MEGA GALLERY fonts can be uninstalled using the Fonts Control Panel in Windows 95. To do this click Start, Settings, Control Panel, and double-clicking the Fonts icon. Note: Before removing fonts, verify that they are Corel MEGA GALLERY fonts. It is also important to confirm that these fonts are not required by any other application. The Corel MEGA GALLERY manual, provides a complete listing of all the fonts included with the application. Note: Once Corel MEGA GALLERY has been removed from the system, try to launch the FONTVIEW.EXE by double-clicking a font in the Control Panel, Fonts.
