# 3850- CorelDRAW™ 8 for Macintosh® Tips & Tricks 1. To bring the rulers closer to the page, depress the SHIFT key and click and drag the rulers anywhere on the page, or you can click the small box where the two rulers intersect and drag them together. 2. To wrap Paragraph Text around an object, click the object with the Pick tool. Hold the CONTROL key, click the object, and select Properties, General. Enable the Wrap Paragraph Text check box. 3. To insert a page in the document, click the "+" symbol by the page indicator. Press either PAGE UP or PAGE DOWN if you are on the first or last page, respectively. 4. To customize the status bar, hold the CONTROL key, click the Status bar and choose the desired options. 5. To bring up a context menu, depress the CONTROL key and click a blank section or object of the working page. 6. To resize an object horizontally, press COMMAND and drag the side handle of the object to increase its horizontal dimensions in 100% increments. To resize the object vertically, COMMAND and drag its top or bottom handle to resize it in 100% increments. To resize the entire object, COMMAND and drag a corner handle. By holding the OPTION key while resizing the object, the object will remain centered. 7. Obtain professional results by taking advantage of the Presets tool found in the Scripts menu. The Scripts menu allows recording and creating scripts to apply to objects, such as moving, stretching, filling, etc. Use the Roll-Up to change the selected preset. Add effects like drop shadows with the Interactive Drop Shadow tool or create unique fountain fills to a selected object with the Interactive Fountain Fill tool. 8. Turn toolbars on or off by pressing the CONTROL key and clicking on an unused portion of a toolbar. If you want to customize the interface further, drag the Toolbox onto the page so that it is floating, or dock it next to the Button bar along the top, bottom or sides of the screen. 9. To select a single object from a grouped object, press COMMAND + OPTION and click the individual objects within the group. 10. Double-click to access the following areas of the screen: the Page Size Options Box: double-click the page shadow of the CorelDRAW 8 for Power Macintosh document. the Grid and Scale Setup: double-click either the horizontal or vertical ruler the Pick tool: double-click to select all of the objects on the current page the Rectangle tool: double-click to create a rectangle to act as a page frame
