List of Fixes in the May 1996 Patch for the Client/Server Enabled Version of Paradox 7 Runtime for Windows 95 & Windows NT Below is a list of the Paradox Runtime problems that are solved and improvements that are made by using the May 1996 patch for the client/server enabled version of Paradox 7 Runtime for Windows 95 & Windows NT (RUNPATAS.ZIP). For a list of the problems fixed in the patch for the non client/server enabled version of Paradox 7 Runtime for Windows 95 & Windows NT (RUNPATA.ZIP), download the file RUNFIXA.TXT. - A query no longer produces an error when it uses an Answer table with a long file name. - Posting the only record in a table or in a restricted view of a table no longer loses currency and subsequently no longer produces the error "Record already locked by this session." - Before, queries that generate dBASE Answer tables under certain conditions would produce the message "Access to table disabled because of previous error." This no longer occurs. - Users no longer get a "Cannot open table, Insufficient Disk space" error message when they choose to open a view of a table with a universal naming convention (UNC) path. - Lines in 2D line charts are now drawn at the specified thickness. - Unary negation operators preceding example elements are now acceptable as conditions in queries. - If you use extended characters in field names for a fixed-length text import, and you are using an ANSI language driver for Paradox, you will find that the extended characters in the field names will not change in the final table. - Under certain conditions, Paradox Runtime, produces a General Protection Violation if a form repeatedly calls a library method that has a breakpoint and a try-onFail-endTry block, but has no locally declared variables. The patch fixes this problem. - Paradox no longer crashes if it cannot load one of the BDE DLL files for any reason. - In the earlier release, if you close a dialog form that contains an OCX, you would not be able to click on the Paradox window. This problem has been fixed with the patch. - If you open Paradox as a DDE server and you request a non-existent query as a topic, you will now get a proper error message. - You can now safely choose Form | Filter on a running form that has a data model which contains at least one table with only BLOB fields. - Paradox now produces an error message, rather than a General Protection Violation, if you try to save a table with a name that's too long. - Support has been added for Eastern European tagged fonts. - In certain error conditions while working with an SQL server, memory was not being freed correctly. This problem has been fixed with the patch. - The file ICONTROL.TLB, required for applications containing an OCX, has been added. - 2 -
