# 4704- Corel Print Office™ FAQs This document contains frequently asked questions about Corel Print Office™. Q How do I install Corel Print Office ? A To install this product, perform the following steps: 1. Insert CD-ROM #1 in the drive. 2. Click Start, Run. 3. Type D:\SETUP.EXE (where D:\ is the CD-ROM drive letter), and click OK. 4. The Corel Setup Wizard will launch, click Next. 5. Follow the prompts in the setup wizard until the installation is complete. A Before this product is uninstalled, the Address Book should be backed up, and the Corel Uninstaller should be launched. For a complete list of the steps required to uninstall Corel Print Office, refer to Fax on Demand document #4702. Q Can I open older versions of Print House™ in Print Office. A Yes but the file extension must be changed first. Print House files have the extension CPH and Print Office files have the extension CPO. In order for Print Office to recognize the older file type, the extension must be changed to CPO. Listed below are the steps to change file extensions. 1. Click Start, Find, Files or Folders. 2. In the Named box, type the file name. 3. Click Find Now. 4. When the file is located, it will high light, Click File, Rename. 5. Type the new file name with the CPO extension ex. TEST.CPO. Q How do I create business cards so that I get 10 cards on an 8.5"x11" page ( 2 columns of 5 cards each)? A To do this, perform the following steps: 1. Launch Corel Print House. 2. Click From Scratch. 3. Click Labels and Business Cards, and click Next. 4. In the Choose a label/card box, click Avery Lsr/Ink. 5. In the Choose a label/card style box, click 5371 - 2x3.5 BusCr 6. Click Next, and click Done. Customize this blank card as desired. Q How can I customize the text size and style ? A There are two methods to do this: Method 1: - Click the Text tool, and click the page. - Type the desired text. - Click the text with the Pick tool. - Click the A tab, on the Property bar. - The Text Properties Note Book will appear, customize your text. - When complete, click Done. Method 2: - Click the Text tool. - Click the A tab, on the Property bar. - The Text Properties Note Book will appear, customize your text. - When complete, click Done. - Click the page and start typing. Q When printing a double-sided project, a guide sheet is always printed. Is there a way to disable the guide sheet ? A To do this, perform the following steps: 1. Click Edit, Options, General. 2. Disable the Print Instruction Sheets for Manual Duplexing Print Jobs check box. 3. Click OK. Q How can I display holidays on the calender in Corel® Colleagues & Contact ? A To do this, perform the following steps: 1. In the Calendar program in Corel Colleagues & Contact, click Options. 2. Enable the check boxes next to all of the desired holidays. 3. Click OK. Q Why am I getting Invalid Page Fault errors while working in Corel Print Office? A Corel Print Office has a document in the online Help that will help to resolve these issues. To access this document, click Help, Technical Support. Click "Diagnosing Invalid Page Faults ( IPF's ) and system lockups in Windows 95," and click Display. Try all of the steps in this document before contacting Technical Support. Q Can I use the Clipart in other programs ? A The Clipart is stored in a .CMX format. If the other program supports the CMX file format, the Clipart can be imported directly into the other program. If it does not support CMX, the files can be placed in the other program using copy and paste. Q How do I save images with a transparent background ? A To do this, perform the following steps: 1. With the image on screen ,click File, Save As. 2. In the Save as Type list box, click CompuServe Bitmap (GIF). 3. Type a file name, and choose a folder to save in. 4. Click Save, and the Bitmap Export window will appear. 5. Click 256 Colors and click OK. 6. In the Transparency dialog box, click Image color. 7. Click the color you wish to be transparent. 8. A For step by step instructions on installing additional fonts, refer to Fax on Demand document #4701. Q Why are some of the Effects options grayed out? A This will occur if the image color mode is not set to 16 million colors. To convert the image, click Edit, Image Properties. Switch the Color mode to 16 million colors, and click Done. Q Why doesn't the GIF filter appear in the filter list when I click File, Save As? A This will occur if the image Color mode is not set to 256 colors. The GIF file format only supports 256 colors. To convert the image, click Edit, Image Properties. Switch the Color mode to 256 colors, and click Done. Q How do I convert a half-fold card into a quarter-fold card ? A To do this, perform the following steps: 1. With the half-fold card on screen, click File, Convert Project. 2. Click Greeting Cards, and click Next. 3. Click one of the Quarter folds, and click Next. 4. Click 8.5"x11", and click Next. 5. Click Done. Q Why are the Done and Next tabs not appearing in Corel Print Office? A This problem will occur if the system is not running in SVGA mode. SVGA mode is a system requirement. To switch to SVGA mode, perform the following steps: 1. Click Start, Settings, Control Panel. 2. Double-click the Display icon, and click the Settings tab. 3. From the Desktop Area list box, click 800 by 600 or greater. 4. From the Font Size list box, click Small Fonts. 5. Click Apply, and click OK If the computer will not allow these changes to take place, contact the manufacturer to ensure SVGA mode is supported.
