Corel WordPerfect 7

Interactive Trouble Shooting Guide

Any BETA version should have been completely removed before installing the shipping versions of the software. Simply deleting the directory structure is not sufficient. To remove the BETA version follow the instructions below:

  1. On all WordPerfect 7 BETA CD’s under the \\SDK\CLEAN directory there is a program called CLEANPO7.EXE. This is the clean utility that should remove all the files installed and it will also remove any entries places in the registry by the BETA version.
  2. Before running CLEANPO7.EXE be sure that the DAD (Desktop Application Director) bar and PerfectPrint are shut down. (Note: to shut down PerfectPrint press Ctrl-Alt-Del and select End Task with PFPPOP70 selected.
  3. Go to Start | Run | Browse, find and run CLEANPO7.EXE
  4. Once you have run CLEANPO7.EXE, make sure that the entire directory structure has been deleted. CAUTION — other Corel applications are installed to the COREL directory (ie: CorelDRAW) along with the WordPerfect suites. The suite is installed under the \\COREL\OFFICE7 directory by default. Do not just use the DOS DELTREE command on the COREL directory until you are sure that no other Corel applications are installed in that location. Also be sure that you backup any personal files you may have created while using the BETA software. CLEANPO7 will also remove the \\MYFILES directory.
