Scaling Bitmap And Vector Images - #4205 Although you would not normally print an *.EPS file to a non-PostScript printer, if you have a need to do so, please note the following issue with scaling. Corel VENTURA 4.2 scales vector and bitmap images from two different origin points. For instance, if you place an *.EPS image with a bitmap header into a frame and scale it down, the image will scale towards the upper left hand corner of the frame, according to the image's origin point. When printed to a PostScript printer the *.EPS image remains in the same position as seen on the screen. However, when printed to a non-PostScript printer, the *.EPS image header (the bitmap representation of the image) will appear scaled to the same degree but centered in the frame. This is due to the fact that a non-PostScript printer is only able to print the bitmap image header of the *.EPS file. Since the origin point for scaling bitmaps is its center, we acheive the results above. To prevent this, when printing to a non-PostScript printer, do not scale any images containing a bitmap image header within Corel VENTURA. Instead, scaling or re-sizing should be done within the image's source application, such as CorelDRAW. For new images, create the image according to the desired size before exporting it to Corel VENTURA. For existing images, open the original graphic file in its source application and scale it to the required size before exporting it to Corel VENTURA. Copyright © 1996 Corel Corporation.
