Working With Colour Separations - #4212 To print separations in Corel VENTURA 4.2 you must have Ventura Separator installed. If you do not have it already installed you can perform a custom installation to include it. Keep in mind the Ventura Separator needs 6 MB of RAM for proper operation. Corel VENTURA supports RGB images only. If you have existing CMYK images you must convert those images into RGB images before they can be used within Corel VENTURA. Separations can be performed on postscript and non-postscript devices. Printing Separations From Corel VENTURA 4.2 The following will demonstrate printing separations: * Step 1- From File | Print | Options | select Color Separations * Step 2 - Select the Color option and choose Add Process Colors or choose the Spot color, then choose the Add To Selected Colors option Importing A Graphic That Contains Spot Color Information If you are importing graphics that contain spot color information choose the EPS file filter. This filter will maintain the spot color information. The following will explain how to import a graphic containing spot colors into Corel VENTURA 4.2: * Step 1 - Export your image as an encapsulated postscript file from the source application (i.e. CorelDRAW , other app etc.) * Step 2 - From Corel VENTURA choose File | Load graphic/picture | Line Art | select the Postscript filter * Step 3 - Go to Paragraph | Define colors or you can choose Extensions | Ventura Separator | Define colors, select the Spot color then click on Spot Colors under the Ink Separations option * Step 4 - See printing separations from Corel VENTURA Creating an object containing spot color information from within Corel VENTURA 4.2 To create a graphic image from within Corel VENTURA 4.2 follow these procedures: * Step 1 - From Paragraph | Define Colors | Choose New * Step 2 - From the color model choose PANTONE Solid * Step 3 - Choose the particular Pantone spot color and choose OK * Step 4 - Go to Paragraph | define colors | select the Spot color | from the Ink Separations option click on Spot Colors * Step 5 - Choose Graphic | Fill Attributes menu or if you applying the spot color to text go to Paragraph | Font Settings | Select the Font | Select the Spot color from the color option * Step 6 - See printing separations from Corel VENTURA Copyright © 1996 Corel Corporation.
