# 5501- The Equation Editor and Spot Colors Although the Equation Editor uses RGB (red, green, blue) and HSL (hue, saturation, lightness) color models, Corel VENTURA 5 will automatically convert these colors to CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) when printing. As a result, equations cannot be assigned spot colors. To print the equation with a spot color, perform the following steps: 1. Assign the equation a color value of 100% black. 2. Inform your service bureau to substitute the desired Pantone Spot color for the CMYK separation containing the equation. As it is most likely that the entire print job will be done in spot colors, the only objects that will appear on the process black separation should be the equations.
