# 5506- Generic Text Printers

Although Corel VENTURA  5 no longer uses width tables, it must still evaluate the metrics of
the installed fonts as seen by the default printer driver. If the default printer driver does not
contain device font information, as with FAX drivers and the Windows Text Only printer driver, a
General Protection Fault may be generated when Corel VENTURA is launched.

If this occurs, setup a new default printer driver containing device font information.  Since the
majority of printer drivers contain such information, one may already exist on the computer.
