# 5510- Maintenance Releases and Updates

The latest revision for Corel VENTURA  5 standalone is F2 with the F5 patch. The F2 revision
and the F5 patch can be obtained by contacting Customer Service.  The F5 patch can also be
obtained from the FTP site, BBS, or CompuServe in section 5 of Corel Applications 2 forum. The
two files required are CVF5CENG.EXE and CVF5FILT.EXE. 


CDRGFX Patch for Corel VENTURA 5 Standalone
The CDRGFX.EXE patch updates the graphics engine in Corel VENTURA 5 standalone.  If you
are receiving a GPF in module CDRGFX50.DLL when attempting to print from the F2 revision
with the F5 patch you may be experiencing a compatibility issue with the Corel VENTURA
graphics engine. The CDRGFX.EXE patch can be obtained from the FTP site, BBS, or
CompuServe in section 5 of Corel Applications 2 forum.


Corel VENTURA/DRAW Suite
The latest revision for the VENTURA/DRAW Suite is G1. The G1 revision can be obtained
by contacting Customer Service .


Enhancements to Corel VENTURA 5
Many enhancements have been incorporated into the latest revisions of Corel VENTURA 5. A list
of key enhancements is provided below. Additional detail on key issues is provided in the
README.WRI file which accompanies the maintenance release. For a list of clipart updates,
refer to the CLIPART.WRI file found in the \CLIPART directory of CD-ROM #1.

          More than 100 logged issues have been addressed.
          Ventura is now compatible with the latest Microsoft OLE 2.02 redistributable DLL's.
          All of Ventura's text and graphics filters have been updated.
          Vastly improved Windows GDI printing speed, + support for the printing of rotated text
     and graphics.
          General optimization of the frequency of screen redraws, file loading, graphic display, etc.
          Fixed problems with loading complex tables created in previous versions of Ventura.
          Improved support for extended characters (in tag names, imported text files, etc.).
          Update of online help and recording of paper documentation errata in the README.WRI
     file.
          Addition of a new file type (Ventura Graphic Format) which improves the speed with
     which graphics load and redraw.  Please see the on-line help and README.WRI file
     which accompany the maintenance release for a detailed explanation.
          Addition of Corel  DataBase Publisher to CD-ROM version.
          Improved importing speed of Word for Windows files.
          Corrected the problem creating a template from documents containing files without
     extensions.
          Corrected problems with re-anchoring of frames.
          Added keyboard toggles for Italics (Ctrl-I), Bold (Ctrl-B), Underline (Ctrl-U) and Normal
     (Ctrl-M).
          Go to Page dialog box will now remain on screen if desired.
          Improvements to Index Entries RollUp.
          Greater choice of time and date formats for headers and footers.
