# 5702- Backup Error Message when saving file in Corel VENTURA™ 8 When a publication is saved in Corel VENTURA 8, a second copy for backup purposes is created in the same folder as the publication. For example, by default, if a file is named ‘test.vp', the moment the file is saved, Ventura 8 creates a backup file and names it ‘Backup of test.vp'. Some networks are still limited to the 8.3 naming convention. Because ‘Backup of test.vp' is considered a Long File Name, it won't be possible to save that filename to the network. The user is notified that there was a problem making a backup copy. To resolve this error and allow proper backup of publications over a 8.3 name standard network: 1. Click Tools, Options. 2. In the list of categories, click Save. 3. Un-check the ‘Prefix Backup with "Backup Of"' box. That will create a file called ‘test.$vp' instead.
