Because TN Redirector * does not set SO_KEEPALIVE on the socket, the TCP/IP * keepalive function which would detect this problem is * not enabled. Because TN Redirector maintains these * sockets, eventually all sockets could be claimed in this * manner. The sockets can be recovered by stopping the * CS/AIX node. * * PROBLEM CONCLUSION: * CS/AIX TN Redirector code will be altered to use SO_KEEPALIVE * on both sides of the Redirector connections. The user can * then tune the timeout by using the "no" settings: * tcp_keepidle, tcp_keepinit, tcp_keepintvl * Default settings produce a timeout of approximately two hours. * * * Also included in this updated module are fixes for the following APARs: * * iy17132 snatnsrvr_mt (also requires snatnsrvr to complete) * iy32579 snatnsrvr_mt * *+----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ * * INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: * __________________________ * * iy32579.tar.Z ("this efix" in the steps below) is a compressed tar archive * file containing the updated modules and this readme. * * * To install this efix: * _____________________________ * * ** Downloading the file: * * 1) Be SURE to download this efix in BINARY format. * * 2) Check the output of sum against the updated module after * uncompressing and untarring this efix.
