Logs are reporting rtp pipe * timeouts and path switch failure and disconnect. A cycle of the * node is required to resolve the problem. * * PROBLEM SUMMARY: * USERS AFFECTED: Users of HPR/IP - EEDLC. * * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: * When using HPR/IP a 20-30 second * delay in IP packet processing by the * network can cause the SHORT_REQ * timer to expire on a long-lived RSETUP * connection. At this point the * RTP connection is hung and the * expectation of the node is that the * underlying link will fail. However, * if IP traffic resumes on the * underlying link after this * point but before the LDLC link * timers expire then the link will * remain active. The remote node may * fail its RSETUP RTP connection and * start a new one.At this point the * node will show two RSETUP connections * and Route Setups received on one * will not be replied to as they are * queued for the hung RTP connection. * * PROBLEM SUMMARY: * RSETUP RTP connection hangs and RTP connection failures * without path switches. * * PROBLEM CONCLUSION: * When the SHORT_REQ timer expires for a long-lived RTP * connection, disconnect the RTP connection with sense code * 80210000. The HPR Manager can then recover the RSETUP * connection and handle the Path Switching of RTP connections * that time out. * * Also included in this updated module are fixes for the following APARs: * NONE * iy46595 sna_v5router (requires sna_mux to be complete) * iy47993 sna_v5router (sysroute from jr18207) * *+----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ * * INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: * __________________________ * * iy47993.tar.Z ("this fix" in the steps below) is a compressed tar archive * file containing the updated modules and this readme. * * * To install this fix: * _____________________________ * * ** Downloading the file: * * 1) Be SURE to download this fix in BINARY format. * * 2) Check the output of sum against the updated module after * uncompressing and untarring this fix.
