The following information should have been available in your Quick Beginnings installation documentation.
When installing DB2 UDB Version 7 on UNIX based systems, and a DB2 product is already installed, you will need to run the db2iupdt command to update those instances with which you intend to use the new features of this product. Some features will not be available until this command is run.
