DB2 Universal Database Enterprise Edition and DB2 Connect Enterprise
Edition are now available for Linux on S/390. Before installing Linux
on an S/390 machine, you should be aware of the software and hardware
requirements:
Hardware
S/390 9672 Generation 5 or higher, Multiprise 3000.
Software
- SuSE Linux v7.0 for S/390 or Turbolinux Server 6 for zSeries and
S/390
- kernel level 2.2.16, with patches for S/390 (see below)
- glibc 2.1.3
- libstdc++ 6.1
The following patches are required for Linux on S/390:
- no patches are required at this time.

Notes:
- Only 32-bit Intel-based Linux and Linux on S/390 are supported.
- The following are not available on Linux/390 in DB2 Version
7:
