DB2 Connect Quick Beginnings for Linux**

Configuring Client to LAN-Based Server Communications Using the Command Line Processor

Figure car not displayed.

To configure a client to communicate with a server, the remote server must be configured to accept in-bound requests for the communication protocol that you want to use. By default, the installation program automatically detects and configures any protocols running on a server.

If you have added a new protocol to your network, or wish to change any of the default settings on the server, refer to the Installation and Configuration Supplement.

This section describes how to configure a DB2 client to communicate with a DB2 server that does not reside on a host or AS/400 system using the command line processor.

For instructions on entering DB2 commands, see Entering Commands Using the Command Center or Entering Commands Using the Command Line Processor.
