Enabling the BTT XML Validator

The toolkit provides a BTT XML validator to make sure that your XML files associated with the CHA Editor and Format Editor are syntactically correct. The BTT XML Validator enhances the WebSphere(R) Studio Application Developer XML Validator by enforcing XML syntactic validation on files with extensions other than .xml; for example, dse.ini, and the .chae and .fmte files.
To enable the BTT XML Validator, do the following:
  1. From the WebSphere Studio Application Developer, select Window > Preferences.
  2. In the Preferences window that appears, select Validation from the left navigation bar. The Validation preferences show up on the right.
  3. Select the Run validation automatically when you save changes to a resource check box.
  4. Select the BTT XML Validator check box.

  5. Click OK to close the Preferences window and take your settings into effect.
You can also enable the BTT XML Validator from the properties of each project. To open the project properties, right-click a project from the Package Explorer and select Properties.
