Creating a JSP

To create a JSP, you can use a regular text editor or an HTML authoring tool. You can also use the WebSphere(R) Studio Application Developer to develop your JSPs.

To create a JSP with the toolkit JSP tags using the WebSphere Studio Application Developer, do the following:

  1. From your WebSphere Studio Application Developer, select File > New > Project.
  2. From the New Project window that appears, select Web from the left panel, and then select Dynamic Web Project from the right panel. Click Next.
  3. Type your project name in the Project name field and click Finish. You can now see your Web project in the Navigator view of the Application Developer.
  4. Copy the following JAR files to the /WebContent/WEB-INF/lib directory of the Web project:
    • commons-beanutils.jar
    • commons-collections.jar
    • commons-digester.jar
    • commons-fileupload.jar
    • commons-lang.jar
    • commons-logging.jar
    • commons-validator.jar
    • jakarta-oro.jar
    • struts.jar
You can find these JAR files in the HTML Sample that the toolkit provides.
  5. Copy the following toolkit JAR files to the /WebContent/WEB-INF/lib directory of the Web project:
    • bttstruts.jar
    • bttinvoker.jar
You can find these JAR files in the <toolkit_root>/jars directory, where <toolkit_root> refers to the root directory of your Branch Transformation Toolkit installation folder.
  6. In the Project Navigator view of the Application Developer, select your Web project. From the menu, select File > New > JSP file to create a new JSP file.
  7. Code your JSP file with utilizing the toolkit JSP tag library.
