The Format Editor provides a wizard to create the default editor
configuration file and the definition XML file used by the CHA Formatter Service
and formatters components. Use the wizard to customize the Format Editor for
each project.
Note: A Format Editor's configuration file needs a corresponding CHA
Editor's configuration file to display the CHA Data view and CHA view for
the Format Editor. Therefore, before you set up the Format Editor, make sure
the CHA Editor's configuration file (the .chae file) already exists in one
of your WebSphere(R) Studio
Application Developer project.
To set up the Format Editor for a project, do the following:
- Create a simple project to contain the Format Editor files.
- From the File menu, select .
- In the dialog box, select IBM Branch Transformation
Toolkit in the left panel.
- In the right panel, select Format Editor file.
- Click Next. This starts the Format
Editor Configuration Wizard.
- Select the project that contains the CHA Editor's configuration
file. This project will also contain the Format Editor's configuration
file that you are creating.
- In the file name field, type the name of the Format Editor's configuration
file. The file must have the .fmte extension.
- Click Next.
- From the left panel, select the entity that contains the CHA Editor's
configuration file. Then from the right panel, select the CHA Editor's configuration
file that you'll use with the Format Editor.
- Click Finish.
The wizard then creates the configuration file and the dsefmt.xml
file in the project folder. It then starts the Format Editor.
