If you want the trace records to be reported to the WebSphere(R) Application
Server console or the WebSphere Application Server log, you should enable
Trace Facility in WebSphere Application Server.
To enable the Trace Facility in WebSphere Application Server, do the
following:
- Open the WebSphere Application Server Administrative Console.
From the left panel, select .
- In the right panel, select . In the Diagnostic
Trace Service panel, click the Configuration tab.
- In the Enable Trace row, select the Enable trace
with the following specification box.
- In the Trace Specification row, input com.ibm.btt.base.TraceWAS=all=enabled.
- In the Trace Output row, select the File option
and specify the path and name of the log file in File Name field.
- In the Trace Output Format row, select Basic (Compatible).

- Click Runtime tab.
- In Save Trace row, select the Save runtime changes
to configuration as well box.
- In Trace Specification row, input string com.ibm.btt.base.TraceWAS=all=enabled.
- In the Trace Output row, select the File option
and specify the path and name of the log file in File Name field.
