Typographic conventions

The installation guide uses the following typographic conventions:
Convention Description of convention
Bold Used to indicate something you select or click in the GUI
Italics Used for emphasis or to refer to another document
Monospace font 
Used to indicate text that you type yourself or screen messages
< > Used to enclose descriptions of variables that you must type yourself or names of tags within XML files as shown in the following examples:
  • <variable name>
  • <tag name>

Keys are identified in this guide just as they appear on the keyboard (for example, Enter, Tab, Ctrl).
