2.    APAR Problem Descriptions
 2.1  PK42297 - Loading to TSM after enabling "Search Cache" is not searching
                Cache for resources
      - In OnDemand v7.1.2.8 and v7.1.2.9, a defect was found where System
        Log storage objects were not appending. This resulted in many small
        storage objects being archived in OnDemand cache and/or TSM. This may
        also cause OnDemand to reach an Operating System limit, where the
        maximum number of files in a single directory is reached (OnDemand may
        create too many symbolic links in a single directory).
 2.2  PK43146 - Cache expiration fails with the message,
                "Unable to close directory"
      - When running 'arsmaint -c', the following error in your OnDemand System
        Log appears, preventing cache expiration from occurring:
          05/11/2007 15:04:36 ADMIN       38339 Error No    195 Unable to close
          directory >c:\arscache1\11779\LAA\DOC<.  errno=41
          Srvr->cmi340.svl.ibm.com 9.30.153.110<- 

 2.3  PK41911 - OnDemand may not query or update data correctly when using
                fixed length character fields against an Oracle database
      - When searching a fixed length character field with the "EQUAL" operator
        or the "IN" operator OnDemand fails to return any results even though
        records exist for the criteria.  When updating fields using arsdoc
        update that include fixed length character fields in the criteria the
        update will fail to update the records even though records exist for the
        criteria.       
 2.4  PK42612 - Upgrading to OD7128 or later, app groups loading to TSM only,
                load to cache+TSM
      - After upgrading to OnDemand v7.1.2.8 or v7.1.2.9, application groups
        configured to load to TSM only, now load cache and TivoliŽ Storage
        Manager, even though the application group is currently set to load
        to Tivoli Storage Manager only.

3. Installation Notes
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.1   UNIX Servers
      - Pre-reqs
            - Previous install of OnDemand Fixpack 7.1.2.9
	- Steps to install this Fix
            Customers will need to download the appropriate APAR Package
            file for their Server platform, rename and replace the existing
            arssockd, arsadmin, arssmtsm and arsorcle files.
        Example for Unix:
           Download the appropriate APAR Package for you platform:
               AIX = PK42297_aix.tar
               Sun Solaris = PK42297_sun.tar
               Linux = PK42297_linux.tar
               HPUX = Not Available yet
               Linux390 = PK42297_linux390.tar
           Extract the file "tar -xvf PK42297_<platform>.tar"
           Extracted Files:
               <platform>/arssockd
               <platform>/arsadmin
               <platform>/exits/arssmtsm
               <platform>/exits/arsorcle
           Stop the OnDemand Server
           Rename or copy the current arssockd, arsadmin, arssmtsm and
           arsorcle
           Copy all files into /usr/lpp/ars/bin or /opt/ondemand/bin
           Set the permissions for these files appropriately
           Restart the OnDemand Server

3.2   Windows Server
      - Pre-reqs
            - Previous install of OnDemand Fixpack 7.1.2.9
	- Steps to install this Fix
            Customers will need to download the PK42297_win.zip server file for
            their Windows platform, rename and replace the existing arssockd.exe
            arsadmin.exe, arssmtsm.dll and arsorcle.dll files.
        Example for Windows:
           Download PK42297_win.zip
           Extract the files from PK42297_win.zip
           Extracted files
               win/arssockd.exe
               win/arsadmin.exe
               win/arssmtsm.dll
               win/arsorcle.dll
           Stop the OnDemand Server using the configurator
           Rename or copy the current arssockd.exe, arsadmin.exe, arssmtsm.dll
             and arsorcle.dll
           Copy all files into C:\Program Files\IBM\OnDemand for WinNT\Bin
           Restart the OnDemand Server
