This page is intended to provide firmware that is intended to be used for very specific situations as identified by the firmware description.
This AL770 service pack is intended for Power7 entry systems.
Prerequisite:
Only install the firmware below at the instruction of your service representative, after verifying customer hardware either does not require mandatory ECA331, or mandatory ECA331 has already been applied. If you were NOT directed to this location by your service representative, contact your support representative and request ECA331 verification. Failure to complete ECA331 verification can prevent the hardware from booting, requiring hardware replacement to resolve.
This firmware is only for the following servers:
FW770.21 (AL770_052_032) Service Pack: Created August 07, 2013

For IBM i Operating Managed Systems:
There is a special process to follow in order to install this firmware on stand-alone IBM i systems. Please download the save file and install instructions for using IBM i OS.
IBM i ReadmeNote:
To access the contents in the .iso file, you must have access to a CD-R or CD-RW drive and software that is capable of
creating a CD from an ISO 9660 formatted image.
Use your software's feature for creating a CD from an ISO image. Adaptec Easy CD Creator calls this feature "Create CD from CD image". RecordNow! and Nero Burning ROM call this feature "Burn Image". Refer to the help provided with your CD-R software for further assistance.
This AM730 / AH730 service pack is intended for select Power7 midrange and high-end systems.
Prerequisite:
Only install the firmware below at the instruction of your service representative, or IBM
Client Care, in relation to Utility Capacity on Demand (CoD). When this firmware is installed
by an IBM service representative activities should be recorded under ECA 334.
Affected servers running a system firmware release of AM730 or AH730 may perform a concurrent update. Servers running a AM720 or AH720 release are required to perform a disruptive upgrade. Servers running release AM710 are not affected, but a disruptive upgrade to release AM730 is recommended. Servers running release AH760 are not affected.

This SF240_390 Service Pack is intended for POWER5 systems than are not managed by an HMC. This Service Pack contains a fix for a problem that caused the serial port on the service processor to stop responding when a large number of characters were sent from an ASCII terminal in a short period of time.
If your 9110, 9111, 9113, 9131 and/or 9133 POWER5 system is managed by an HMC, there is no exposure to this issue and no need to install this Service Pack.

These features allow the DDR2 memory to be migrated to Power 595 (9119-FHA) from p590 (9119-590), p595 (9119-595) and i595 (9406-595) servers. However they require analysis of the memory on the existing machine prior to the start of the upgrade.
The SSR will need to install and run a special analysis tool on the existing POWER5 machine in order to determine how to proceed with the memory migration. The SF240_370_BP240_224.iso contains the necessary firmware/tool to support this MES. Product Engineering recommends that this firmware/tool is only installed on systems preparing to perform the above MESes.
You must have access to a CD-R or CD-RW drive and software that is capable of creating a CD from an ISO 9660 formated image.
