    This readme file contains the latest information about installing Tivoli Provisioning Manager 3.1.0.3 on zLinux servers using SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9.


    Pre-installation instructions

    This section provides details about obtaining the CDs and required images to install the required prerequisite software as well as Tivoli Provisioning Manager.

    Obtaining the images for Tivoli Provisioning Manager
    Contact IBM Support Center for the installation image and request the zLinux Installation media for Tivoli Provisioning Manager.
    Note:

    Obtaining the images for the prerequisite software from Xtreme Leverage
    Xtreme Leverage Software Downloads portal is made available to all IBM employees that have a valid IBM intranet ID and password (IIP) to facilitate the ability to acquire the software needed for their internal systems. The software available for download on this site is only pre-approved for IBM Internal use. Contact your local IBM representative to obtain the following software for the prerequisites from the Extreme Leverage Web site.

    DB2 UDB Enterprise Server Edition V8.2
    To download DB2 UDB Enterprise Server Edition V8.2, follow the steps below:
    1. Go to http://w3-103.ibm.com/software/xl/portal
    2. Click on Software Downloads in the left navigation panel. The Xtreme Leverage Downloads Web site is displayed.
    3. Click on Find by part number listed under Finder options.
    4. Select one of the download options:
      • Download Director
      • HTTP Transfer
    5. Enter the following part number in the search field and click on Search.
      CR2BWML
      
    6. The Find by part number results page is displayed. Expand the section, DB2 Data Management Software.
    7. Expand the section labelled, DB2 UDB Enterprise Server Edition V8.2 for HW 32-bit eAssembly (Part 1) (CR2BWML).
    8. Select the checkbox next to the software labelled, DB2 UDB Enterprise Server Edition V8.2 for Linux for S/390 31-bit (English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Polish, Czech, Japanese, Korean, Simplified and Traditional Chinese) (C58SCML).
    9. Click I accept to accept the license agreements and download the required software.

    DB2 UDB Enterprise Server Edition V8.2 - Client edition
    To download DB2 UDB Enterprise Server Edition V8.2 - Client edition, follow the steps below:
    1. Go to http://w3-103.ibm.com/software/xl/portal
    2. Click on Software Downloads in the left navigation panel. The Xtreme Leverage Downloads Web site is displayed.
    3. Click on Find by part number listed under Finder options.
    4. Select one of the download options:
      • Download Director
      • HTTP Transfer
    5. Enter the following part number in the search field and click on Search.
      CR2XMML
      
    6. The Find by part number results page is displayed. Expand the section, DB2 Data Management Software.
    7. Expand the section labelled, DB2 UDB Enterprise Server Edition V8.2 eAssembly (Part 4) (CR2XMML).
    8. Select the checkbox next to the software labelled, DB2 UDB Administration Client V8.2 for Linux for zSeries 64-bit (English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Simplified and Traditional Chinese) (C58U1ML).
    9. Click I accept to accept the license agreements and download the required software.

    WebSphere Application Server Developer
    To download WebSphere Application Server Developer, follow the steps below:
    1. Go to http://w3-103.ibm.com/software/xl/portal
    2. Click on Software Downloads in the left navigation panel. The Xtreme Leverage Downloads Web site is displayed.
    3. Click on Find by part number listed under Finder options.
    4. Select one of the download options:
      • Download Director
      • HTTP Transfer
    5. Enter the following part number in the search field and click on Search.
      CR159ML
      
    6. The Find by part number results page is displayed. Expand the section, WebSphere Software.
    7. Expand the section labelled, WebSphere Application Server Developer V5.1 eAssembly (includes V5.1.1 updates) (CR159ML).
    8. Select the checkbox next to the software labelled, WebSphere Application Server V5.1 for Linux on zSeries ( French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, US English) (C53IQML).
    9. Click I accept to accept the license agreements and download the required software.

    IBM Tivoli Directory Server V5.2
    To download IBM Tivoli Directory Server V5.2, follow the steps below:
    1. Go to http://w3-103.ibm.com/software/xl/portal
    2. Click on Software Downloads in the left navigation panel. The Xtreme Leverage Downloads Web site is displayed.
    3. Click on Find by part number listed under Finder options.
    4. Select one of the download options:
      • Download Director
      • HTTP Transfer
    5. Enter the following part number in the search field and click on Search.

    6. The Find by part number results page is displayed. Expand the section, Tivoli Software.
    7. Expand the section labelled, IBM Tivoli Directory Server V5.2 eAssembly Multiplatform, Multilingual (CR1V1ML).
    8. Select the checkbox next to the software labelled, IBM Tivoli Directory Server for zSeries ISO V5.2, Multilingual (C57L1ML).
    9. Click I accept to accept the license agreements and download the required software.

    Obtaining the images for the fixes from the IBM support Web site
    To download required images for the installation, follow the steps below:
    1. Go to the IBM Support Web site: http://www.ibm.com/support
    2. In the Support topics list, click Downloads and Drivers.
    3. In the Browse product support section, under Software list, click All IBM software (A-Z).
    4. In the search box, enter the keywords for the software that you want to download:
      • For the WebSphere Application Server Version 5.1 Fix Pack 1 (Version 5.1.1), enter:

    IBM Automation Package Development Environment (APDE) updates

    The APDE is an eclipse plug-in that provides a development environment for developing Tivoli Provisioning Manager workflows and automation packages. To download the automation packages :

    1. Go to http://www.ibm.com/software/ondemandcatalog/automation.
    2. The IBM Automation Package Development Environment - eclipse plug-in can be found by entering apde in the search box.

    Installation instructions

    Refer to the Tivoli Provisioning Manager Installation guide for Linux(R) on zSeries(TM) using SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 to install Tivoli Provisioning Manager on zSeries servers.
