When a socket application issues a socket API function, socket API support determines whether the function needs to be sent to the TCP/IP offload device to complete the processing of the function. If the function needs to be sent to the TCP/IP offload device, socket API support issues a claw_send function call to send the socket API call to the Common Link Access to Workstation (CLAW) API. After CLAW API and TPF CLAW services have processed the claw_send function call, the TPF CLAW device interface issues the I/O function needed to send the socket API call to the TCP/IP offload device.
