Using the browser's back button

Because the information center uses frames the use of the browser's Back button can sometimes produce unexpected results.

For example, when a category or topic is selected in the navigation panel this causes both the navigation panel and the main panel to change, and both of these changes are recorded by the browser. If the Back button is then pressed only one of these changes is backed out leaving the panels out of synchronization. When this happens, pressing the Back button once more should restore the synchronization.

Rather than using the Back button, it is often possible to obtain the required effect by reversing the previous action. For example, if a category or topic has just been opened, selecting the category or topic again will close it.
