The programs and keypoints needed to start or restart the system, and other
programs and keypoints, get stored in the general file. The following
list shows the general file contents:
- IPLA and the volume serial number (VOLID)

There are 2 types of general files for HPO: one for the basic
subsystem (BSS) and one for subsystems. Only the basic subsystem has
the code necessary for an IPL.
