ZGFSP-Alter Pool Parameters

Use this command to change the parameters for file pool records.

Requirements and Restrictions

None.

Format

REJ
defines the rejection value.

Reject is used for long-term reorder. Specify the value as a percentage; it is used to calculate the minimum number of addresses that must be available for a set to be accepted by reorder and put to use.

As a reorder for a long-term section takes place, the total number of addresses currently in the section is divided by the number of directories to generate the average number of addresses per directory. The number of addresses in the set just brought in by reorder must exceed the:

Average number of addresses per directory
                ×
The number of directories in this set
                ×
          The reject percentage

KUL
defines the keypoint update level. Keypointing a directory occurs when the specified number of changes is made to the directory by dispense or return pool activity.

4RT
defines the 4-KB, short-term pool section recycle time increment in minutes.

LRT
defines the large, short-term pool section recycle time increment in minutes.

SRT
defines the small, short-term pool section recycle time increment in minutes.

SKP
defines the file pool address skipping safety factor. This value should reflect the number of addresses that could have been dispensed between a keypoint request and the actual update of the directory on file.

When a processor restarts from an unplanned shutdown, the keypoint images of the in-use directories do not reflect all the addresses that were dispensed before the unplanned shutdown. To ensure that an address that was previously dispensed is not given out again, the TPF system adds the values assigned to the KUL and SKP parameters and discards this count from each of its directories.

STR
defines the short-term directory reorder level. This is a percentage of the number of addresses that exist when all directories in a set are full. When the count of available addresses in the set falls below this value, a reorder for a new set is started.

value
is the decimal time or file pool address factor, which is a 1- to 2-digit value for the REJ and STR parameters, and a 1- to 4-digit value for the other parameters.

Additional Information

The short-term pool section recycle time values are the number of minutes a recently depleted short-term directory should remain unused to allow any dispensed addresses from this directory to be given up by applications. There is one recycle time value per short-term pool type.

Examples

The keypoint update level is changed in the following example.
