Use this command to discard all pinned data associated with a device that
is attached to a 3990 record cache subsystem (RCS).
Pinned data is data in the cache or in nonvolatile storage that
could not be written to the DASD surface.
Requirements and Restrictions
- This command is valid only for 3990 RCSs.
- Use this command only for cache recovery. Incorrect use of this
command can cause loss of data.
Format
- ALL
- discards all modified data in the cache for the device. If you do
not specify the ALL parameter, only pinned data tracks are discarded.
- sda
- is the 3- to 4-digit hexadecimal symbolic address of a device.

the help information, enter one of the following:

ZBUFC ?
- Enter the ZBUFC PINNED DISPLAY command to determined if there is any
pinned data.
- Use this command with the ZBUFC STATUS command, which displays the current
3990 caching status, to help you determine what cache recovery actions are
required.
- You can enter this command to an RCS device that is online or offline to
the TPF system. If you enter this command to an offline device, the
device address must be a valid DASD address that is defined to the TPF
system.
Examples
In the following example, the pinned data is discarded for the 3990 RCS
device that is found at the specified address.
