System-management software support

The storage unit provides software alert functions through the system monitor functions provided in the IBM appliance management utility and IBM ServeRAID^(TM) manager software.

The following alerts are supported:

• Disk drive disabled
• Power supply failure
• Cooling failure
• Storage unit too hot
• Vital Product Data for subcomponents

Note:

You must have the correct level of system-management software on your server to enable this functionality.

You must use ServeRAID Version 4.20 or later for your ServeRAID controller to report status and alerts properly. To download the latest ServeRAID software, visit the IBM web site at:

For Netfinity Manager users, download Netfinity Manager Version 5.20.6 SP1 or later.
