Turn off and unplug your computer if it is not a Hot Plug system.
Then remove its cover. For Hot Plug servers, see your server's
documentation.
Note:
In the United Kingdom, you are required by law to disconnect the telephone
line cable before disconnecting the AC power cord.
Remove the cover bracket from a 32-bit or 64-bit
PCI busmaster slot (see Figure 1). If your computer has a 64-bit PCI slot, use
it. In a 32-bit PCI slot, the end of the edge connector will be exposed
and not connected. Make sure the exposed end does not contact any
conducting part of the motherboard.
Carefully insert the Gigabit Ethernet Copper Adapter
into the slot until the it is firmly seated. Then secure the adapter
bracket with a screw.
Repeat steps 3 and 4 for each Gigabit Ethernet Copper Adapter
you want to install.
Replace the computer cover and plug in the power cord.
Turn the power on. The computer's PCI BIOS automatically
assigns resources to the Gigabit Ethernet Copper Adapter. If you get a
PCI configuration error, see Troubleshooting.
