Installing the AS/400 warehouse agent

Before you install the AS/400 warehouse agent, you must remove the Visual Warehouse Version 5.2 AS/400 agent that is located on that workstation.

Removing the Visual Warehouse AS/400 agent

To delete the Visual Warehouse AS/400 agent code, enter DLTLICPGM LICPGM(5639VW5) at an AS/400 command prompt.

The delete command:

• Removes the SRVTBLE entries.
• Removes the IFS directory.
• Removes the /QIBM/ProdData/IWH subdirectory.
• Stops the daemon.
• Deletes the product.

Installing the AS/400 warehouse agent

Before you install the warehouse agent, you must define security and privileges for your warehouse. For information about defining warehouse security, see the Data Warehouse Center Administration Guide and the online help for the Data Warehouse Center.

To install the warehouse agent, you must have a user ID that has ALLOBJ and JOBCTL authority. This level of authority is required for both the AS/400 RSTLICPGM command and the STRVWD and ENDVWD commands. To use the agent after installation is complete, you only need a user ID that has authority to create, destroy, and execute AS/400 objects.

To install the warehouse agent:

1. Insert the Warehouse Manager CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive.
2. Log on to AS/400.
3. At an AS/400 command prompt, enter:

   RSTLICPGM LICPGM(5697G23) DEV(OPT01)
   

   where OPT01 is the name of the device that holds the Warehouse Manager CD-ROM.

The /QIBM/UserData/IWH subdirectory and the /QIBM/ProdData/IWH subdirectory are created by the install process. Traces are written to the /QIBM/UserData/IWH subdirectory.
