Installing the Information Catalog User component

To install the Information Catalog User component on any Windows 32-bit operating systems (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows 2000):

1. Insert the DB2 Universal Database CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive. The launchpad opens.
2. Click Install from the launchpad.
3. In the Select Products window, select the DB2 Administrative Client check box, clear the DB2 Enterprise Edition Server check box (or the DB2 Enterprise - Extended Edition Server check box, if appropriate), then click Next.
4. In the Select Type of Install window, click Custom, then click Next.
5. In the Select DB2 Components window, clear all the check boxes except the Data Warehousing Tools component, then click Subcomponents.
6. In the Select Subcomponents window, select the check box for the Information Catalog User subcomponent.
7. Click Continue to continue the installation program.
8. When the installation program completes, register the server node and any remote information catalogs. See the Information Catalog Manager User's Guide for more information.
