Sample Applications

This page offers you a selection of sample applications, along with a sample database, for use with the RAD Builder. After downloading these files, you can use them to try out the RAD Builder and further customize them to suit the needs of your applications.

Before you begin, make sure to review the instructions for Downloading and Getting Started.


Download Applications

associated database The sample Cloudscape database that is attached here should be used for the Master Slave and Master Details applications. You may use it for other applications as well. Download this database and unzip it under the TemplateLibrary\Sample Data Sources directory. This directory is located in your WebSphere Studio workspace. Note, you can change this location in your RAD preferences.

You should download the database only once, even if you want to use the database for more than one application.


List.zip    Searchable List (List.zip)

This template is a generic template that presents a list of item records, along with Delete and Search options. You can configure different features to control the options available to users of the application.



Details.zip    Details with CRUD Features (Details.zip)

This template is a generic template that presents record details with Create, Read, Update, and Delete (CRUD) buttons. You can configure different features to manage the options available to users of the application.



Master_Slave.zip    Searchable Master Slaves (Master_Slave.zip)

This template is a generic template that presents a list of Master records, and an option to view the list of data (Slaves) associated with each Master record. For example, the Master records may include information for the various departments in a company, while the Slaves will display information for the employees in the selected department.
Features are available to manage the Search options in both the Master and Slave lists.

associated database This template has an associated database.



Master_Details.zip    Searchable Master Details (Master_Details.zip)

This template is a generic template that presents a list of Master records, and an option to view the details for the Slave record associated with the selected master record. For example, the Master list may include information on all employees in a company. When you select an employee record, you can view details of the department (Slave data) in which the employee works.
A feature is available to manage the Search option in the Master list.

Searchable List Details by Category, with CRUD Features

TP--List_Details.zip    Option 1 (TP--List_Details.zip)

This template is a generic template that presents a searchable list of records with Details, Create, Read, Update, and Delete (CRUD) options. When you select a record and open its Details you can perform all CRUD operations.
The different features allow users of the application to view only those records associated with a specified category and manage the availability of CRUD options.



List--C_Details--RUD.zip    Option 2 (List--C_Details--RUD.zip)

This template is a generic template that presents a list of records. You can Search through the list, Create new items, or view Details for any record. Once you have accessed a record's details, you can Update, Delete, or Read details of another record. The different features allow users of the application to view only those records associated with a specified category and manage the availability of Create, Read, Update, and Delete options.



List--RUD_Details--C.zip    Option 3 (List--RUD_Details--C.zip)

This template is a generic template that presents a list of records and the Details of a selected record. Both the list and record details are presented on the same page. You can Search through the list, Create new items, or view Details for any record. Once you have accessed a record's details, you can Update, Delete, or Read details of another record.
The different features allow users of the application to view only those records associated with a specified category and manage the availability of Create, Read, Update, and Delete options.
